Select the biller category and the biller, enter the customer’s consumer number or account ID, and the portal fetches the current bill amount and due date directly from the biller. Collect the cash or accept a digital payment, confirm, and the payment is posted to the biller in real time. The customer receives a receipt with a transaction reference that is valid for any query with the biller. Because BBPS is a regulated system, every payment is tracked end to end and disputes can be raised through the network if a biller has not updated a payment.
